COSTA RICA

PURE LIFE, PURE NATURE!

No other destination on the American continent offers the opportunity to get close to Nature as impressively as does Costa Rica. It is therefore a destination that is “100% natural”.

With 0.03% of the area of the Planet, Costa Rica hosts 5% of the world’s biodiversity. If, in addition, we consider that 25% of the country’s territory is in protected areas and natural parks, we can see that no other destination on the American continent offers the chance to get close to Nature as impressively as does this one. Costa Rica is therefore a destination that is “100% natural”. Costa Rica is a destination in which many of the protected areas provide the traveller with numerous ideas for ‘eco-tourism’. Those in the Tortuguero, Manuel Antonio, Braulio Carrillo and Corcovado National Parks stand out.

The country of the “Ticos” ‒ the popular name for the Costa Ricans ‒ is a veritable green treasure-house, hidden between the Caribbean coasts and the Pacific Ocean. With emblematic places such as the Arenal volcano, the Tenorio volcano and Drake’s Bay never cease to surprise vistors. Not forgetting the cloudy forest of Monteverde, the Nosara jungle or the idyllic beach of Sámara on the Nicoya Peninsular. A profusion of life, a black hole of happiness, a restful corner in contrast to the dictatorship of asphalt.

We must not forget the Gold Museum of San José, the capital. Nor the country’s coffee-growing tradition or a small, but not unimportant, curious detail: Costa Rica is one of the few countries in the world that has no armed forces, apart from traffic police. This allows it to invest more in its well-being, in the education of its children and in the health of its elderly.

The F&S ‘MUST SEES’

  • Costa Rica is synonymous with active volcanos, thick jungles and national parks. With tortoises, toucans and birds of a thousand and one different plumages. With a passion for a green-coloured world.
  • What does adventure consist of in the country of the 'Ticos'? One swings from tree to tree on lianas, one rides on horseback along the green tracks, crosses the jungle on a raft, enjoys trekking with experts, or the high places on a canopy.
  • Costa Rica brings travellers back to their most private roots. It allows them to observe animals closely in their habitat and to see the splendour of the botanic gardens.
  • One of the most earnest wishes of any traveller is to experience life in accommodation which is in harmony with Nature, without giving up the comforts of modernity.
  • A country of beaches. Those of the Caribbean, with the rhythm of Puerto Limon. The sandbanks of the Pacific, where one can practise surfing and many other sports.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS…
"I like Costa Rica. It is a virgin place where I have always found sun, sand, tranquillity and a unique kind of Nature. Oh! And a lot of tropical fruit, which I love".
